MARUDI: Financial aid amounting to RM1,480,000 was presented to nine religious bodies at the Beluru Service Centre here on Saturday.
Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister and Marudi assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil officiated at the presentation ceremony for the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) relief fund (Phase One) in 2019 and cheques for community projects (houses of worship) in Beluru District, Marudi state constituency.
Funds from the first phase of the Unifor relief fund were submitted to Sg Entulang Church (RM150,000), Bem Long Nyirok Church, Tinjar (RM60,000), St Philip Church, Sg Belepin Beluru (RM100,000), as well as Bakong Christ Body and Blood Church (RM150,000).
Meanwhile, cheques for community projects went to the Church of St Mary’s Chapel, Sg Sebubu, Tinjar (RM150,000), Bukit Lapok BEM Church (RM200,000), St Anthony Church, Sg Bain (RM250,000), Roman Catholic Church Lapok (RM250,000) and Tua Pek Kong, Lapok (RM170,000).
