KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) ended the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) enforced at two localities in the state effective today (May 13).

In a statement today, it said the EMCO imposed respectively at Rh Payau Emperan Datuk, Sg Pinang, Sarikei and Kampung Sagah, Kuching had ended.

On the status of districts in Sarawak, the committee said as of today, there were 27 red districts.

“One district remains orange, 10 remain yellow and two remain green,” it said.

SDMC also revealed that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) had issued seven compounds for non-compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Five of the compounds were issued in Bintulu district and one each in Sibu and Padawan districts.

“This brings the total number of compounds issued thus far since Mar 18 last year to 6,500,” it said.

It added the Local Government and Housing Ministry, on the other hand, had issued 24 compounds through various local councils for non-compliance with the SOPs.

“This brings the total number of compounds issued by local authorities since Feb 1 until today to 461,” it said.
