KUCHING: Serian Football Association (SFA) president Philip Jabu said there is no room for complacency at the top of the table, as the team remains focused on securing all three points in every match.

However, he expressed satisfaction with the goalless draw against Kuching FA, acknowledging the hosts’ quality and the advantage of playing under familiar night conditions.

“This was an away game — Kuching are strong in every position and have the benefit of training under the lights, unlike us.

“A 0-0 result is, I believe, a fair outcome for us as the visiting team, even though our target in every match is to win.

“We always prepare to give our best, but we also recognise that Kuching FA are no ordinary side,” he told Sarawak Tribune at the Sarawak Stadium on Sunday (Oct 26).

Philip noted that one of the team’s early challenges was adapting to Kuching’s rhythm, especially in midfield during the first half, but the situation improved after the break.

“I noticed that we struggled a bit to control the midfield in the first half, but we managed to adjust after the start of the second half, and you could see we began to compete more effectively after that.

“The players created several chances as well, but luck just wasn’t on our side when it came to finding the goal,” he said.

When asked whether Serian FA would be adding new players for the second round of matches, Philip said the decision has yet to be finalised.

“It’s not confirmed yet. We do have a few names under consideration, but nothing has been decided,” he revealed.

Serian FA are scheduled to face Sarikei FA on November 8, 2025.
