The state government has in principle approved an application involving agricultural land at Hulu Sungai Simai, Sungai Tellian in Mukah submitted by Basir Megok and 42 others.

Deputy Premier and Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the Land and Survey Department would carry out site investigations before finalising the issuance of land titles.

“The Land and Survey Department will conduct site investigations to determine the developments already carried out before consideration for the issuance of land titles is finalised,” he said.

He said this in response to matters raised by Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine in his ministerial winding-up session today.

At the same time, Awang Tengah said infrastructure works for SPK Tellian Tengah Phase 1 involving 168 residential lots commenced on Sept 19, 2024 and are scheduled for completion on Sept 28, 2026.

“The scope of work involves providing new infrastructure specifications for 168 residential lots. Meanwhile, proposals for SPK Petanak Phase 2 – Stage 1, Integrated SPK Kampung Penakub Hilir/Kampung Datuk and SPK Tellian Tengah Phase 2 – Stage 1 would be submitted under Rolling Plan 3 (RP3) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) for consideration,” he said.

On future planning for Mukah, Awang Tengah revealed that the Mukah Town Centre Development Plan 2035 is currently in its final stage of preparation.

“The Mukah Town Centre Development Plan 2035 is in the final stage of preparation and will be submitted for approval by the State Planning Council in the near future,” he said.

On the court case involving Superintendent of Lands and Surveys Mukah Division & 3 Others v. Gume Anak Brujan & 5 Others, filed at the Court of Appeal on Nov 10 last year, Awang Tengah said the matter is still awaiting the court’s decision.
