KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Dr. James Jemut Masing has denied that the recent 14th General Election was a Dayak tsunami.

He said the majority of the Dayaks still voted for the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“Malaysians are making themselves heard and it is a Malaysian tsunami! Barisan Nasional is now the victim, but if Pakatan Hadapan fails to
fulfill its promises, it will face the wrath of Malaysian voters in five years’ time,” he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said in terms of   democracy, the election result was a good sign
but it was just unfortunate for BN which was the victim of Malaysians’ displeasure.

Meanwhile, Masing wished all Dayaks in Malaysia a happy and prosperous Gawai Dayak 2018.

“Let all the Dayaks and other Malaysians
use this occasion to create better understanding among themselves.

“We must understand that we are all in the same boat rowing to a better Malaysia destination. So don’t rock it for selfish objectives. If our
boat capsises, all Malaysians will perish!” he added.
