AFTER making its global debut earlier this month, the Nothing Phone (3) has officially landed in Malaysia. Described by CEO and founder Carl Pei as the company’s first “true flagship” smartphone, the Phone (3) introduces a bold new design and a host of upgrades over its predecessor, the Phone (2). While its controversial look may divide opinions, its hardware and software enhancements suggest Nothing is aiming higher than ever.

Glyph Matrix: A new era of Nothing’s design language

One of the biggest changes on the Phone (3) is the removal of the Glyph Lights, which were a signature feature of previous models like the Phone (2) and Phone (3a). In their place is the all-new Glyph Matrix — a circular array of 489 LEDs positioned at the top right of the rear panel.

This LED matrix serves multiple functions, such as:

Displaying custom light and sound notifications per contact

Acting as a camera countdown or volume indicator

Functioning as a torch, recording light, stopwatch, or even a clock

In addition, the Glyph Matrix introduces Glyph Toys, interactive mini-apps like “Spin the Bottle”, “Rock Paper Scissors”, and “Magic 8 Ball”. Nothing has also released the Glyph SDK publicly, enabling third-party developers to create more interactive widgets for the platform.

Display and Performance: Bright, smooth and capable

On the front, the Phone (3) features a 6.67-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800×1260 (1.5K). It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming, and boasts an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits, making it one of the brightest smartphone screens on the market today.

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. While not Qualcomm’s top-tier processor (the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite holds that title), it still delivers excellent flagship-level performance for most users. The Phone (3) is available in Malaysia with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample space for apps and media.

Camera System: A triple-lens setup with serious hardware

The Nothing Phone (3) also sees a significant camera upgrade, now featuring a triple rear camera setup – a first for the brand:

50MP main camera (f/1.68, 1/1.3” Sony sensor, OIS), which Nothing claims lets in 44% more light than the Phone (2)

50MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2, 1/2.76” sensor)

50MP periscope telephoto camera (f/2.68, 1/2.75” sensor, with OIS) for enhanced zoom capabilities

For selfies, there’s a 50MP front-facing camera (f/2.2) that delivers high-resolution shots and smooth video.

Battery and Charging: All-day power and flexibility

The Phone (3) packs a substantial 5,150mAh battery, offering reliable all-day performance. It supports:

65W wired fast charging via USB-C

15W wireless charging (Qi-compatible)

7.5W reverse wired charging

5W reverse wireless charging

These features provide flexibility for users to charge their accessories or share power with other devices.

Software Support: Long-term commitment

Out of the box, the Phone (3) runs on Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15. Nothing has committed to an impressive five years of major Android updates and seven years of security updates.

Additionally, the brand confirmed that Nothing OS 4.0, which will be based on Android 16, is set to launch in Q3 2025.

The Nothing Phone (3) is available in two colour options: White and Black.

Here are the official Malaysian prices:
