BRITISH consumer electronics brand Nothing is gearing up to launch its first smartphone of the year, the Nothing Phone (3a) series. Positioned as the successor to the mid-range Nothing Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus, the upcoming device is set to make its debut on March 4. The event is expected to be streamed live on the company’s official YouTube channel.
Triple-camera setup, Pixel-like design
Teasers released by Nothing suggest that the Phone (3a) will be the company’s first smartphone to feature a triple-camera setup. The design appears to resemble the Google Pixel 9 Pro series, indicating a possible shift in aesthetics for the brand.
A leaked prototype spotted earlier revealed a horizontal triple-camera array, including a pill-shaped dual-camera module alongside a separate telephoto lens. Reports suggest that the main and telephoto sensors will be 50MP, while the ultra-wide-angle camera will feature an 8MP sensor. The device will also continue to feature the Glyph Interface — Nothing’s signature notification light system.
Performance and display upgrades
Unlike its predecessors, which were powered by MediaTek Dimensity chips, the Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The handset is also set to receive a larger 6.8-inch OLED display, maintaining a Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother experience.
Battery and charging
The Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to retain the 5,000mAh battery seen in previous models, alongside 45W fast wired charging. This should provide solid battery life and fast recharging capabilities.

Availability and pricing
Malaysia was among the first wave of markets to receive the Nothing Phone (2a), and it is expected that the Phone (3a) will be available in the country shortly after the global launch. As with previous releases, Nothing is likely to offer a limited drop through Crossover retail outlets in Malaysia before wider availability via online platforms and authorised retailers.
For reference, the Nothing Phone (2a) launched at RM1,699, while the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus debuted at RM1,999.
Pricing details for the Phone (3a) remain unknown, but it is expected to stay within a similar price range.
With Nothing’s bold approach to smartphone design and a strong focus on user experience, the Phone (3a) series could be a compelling option in the mid-range market.
