KUCHING: National sprint queen Nur Aishah Rafina cruised to victory in the women’s 100m final, clocking 11.97 seconds as Sarawak runners secured silver and bronze at the Borneo Games Kuching 2025.

The Sabah-born sprinter ran seamlessly to claim gold, finishing ahead of Ormilla Octavia and Alvinia Aivie, who posted 12.34s and 12.50s respectively.

Ormilla, a Berawan from Long Jegan in Baram, Miri, and currently training at Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah, had earlier told Sarawak Tribune that her main focus was on self-improvement.

“My expectation is simple: I just want to run faster than before. If a medal comes, that will be a bonus,” she said.

Ormilla has long drawn inspiration from Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, whom she has admired since her primary school days.

Her current personal best in the 100m is 12.02s. She is also set to compete in the women’s 200m, where her best time stands at 24.79s.
