

MIRI: A worker was on his way to work when he stumbled upon three suspicious objects in an oil palm plantation in Niah near here at 3.20 pm on Wednesday.
The objects were later confirmed by police to be homemade bombs.
Miri police chief,ACP Lim Meng Seah who confirmed that a report had been lodged on the discovery disclosed that a police team has been deployed to the location to conduct an inspection.
“Based on the inspection conducted, our men found three homemade bombs at the location,” said Lim.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the bombs were for use to hunt wild boars.
According to Lim, the objects would explode once the wild boars bite them.
As at press time, no arrest has been made.
Lim said the case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act, 1958.
