MIRI: A man in his 20s was nabbed on suspicion of being involved in the theft of oil palm fruits at Suai near here in April last year.

The man was caught by Batu Niah police around 9pm following a public tip-off.

The suspect is being detained to facilitate police investigation.

According to sources, in April last year, the suspect and two accomplices were seen travelling in a pickup truck laden with about 1.5 tonnes of oil palm fruits in an estate in Niah.

They were spotted by the estate’s security guard. The sources added that the three men were seen replacing a flat tyre after stealing the oil palm fruits.

The security guard managed to identify one of the suspects.
