KUCHING: The Old Josephians’ Association (OJA) Kuching will hold the 8th edition of its signature Ora Et Labora Run, themed ‘Back to School!’, on Oct 4, beginning at 6bam at the SMK St. Joseph school grounds.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is the OJA president, said the annual run continues to serve as a homecoming for former students to reunite, reconnect, and contribute to their alma mater.

“The previous editions of the run have received overwhelming support. Last year, over 1,400 runners participated, and we’re aiming for more than 1,500 runners this year,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the event not only raises funds for school co-curricular activities and student-led business ventures but also supports the school’s major infrastructure project.

“This run is part of our efforts to help raise RM2 million for Phase 1 of the SMK St. Joseph Masterplan, a vital upgrading initiative for the school,” he said, calling on alumni, current students, and corporate partners to contribute generously.

The 2025 Ora Et Labora Run offers three categories to cater to participants of all ages and fitness levels, namely 1.4km Walk for families and children, 5km Fun Run and 10km Race

All finishers will receive medals, while the top 10 finishers in the 10km category will be awarded additional cash prizes.

Registration fees are RM55 per person for the 1.4km Walk and 5km Fun Run, and RM65 for the 10km Race.

Registered participants will receive an official running T-shirt and bib.

Entry forms are available at Revolution Run Borneo — Green Heights, or participants can register online at www.malaysiarunner.com.
