KUCHING: A 77-year old man went home to his house at Rubber Road West to find his house broken into on Wednesday.
The victim said he lost USD 150 and RM1,000 besides branded watches and gold jewelry. Total loss was about RM15,600.
Thieves had gone into the house by cutting through the fence and then the back door.
A police report has been lodged.
In another case, a teacher aged 50 said at about 6.50 am on Wednesday, he received a call from a neighbour saying that his house at Jalan Matang was broken into.
He reported that missing items included carpets, standing fans, a teleivsion set and other electrical appliances.
The thieves tried to steal an airconditioning unit but was unable to do so but the airconditioning unit was damaged during the attemp.
