THE 2026 State Budget will see an increased allocation for three assistance schemes.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the government is allocating RM640 million under the 2026 Budget, and anticipates that more than one million recipients will benefit from this expanded support.

“Households with income of RM5,000 and below will see their annual support increased by RM150, from RM800 to RM950 and for each disbursement, recipient will receive RM316.

“Senior citizens without partners or children, earning RM5,000 and below, will receive an increase of RM100, from RM400 to RM500.

“For each disbursement, recipient will receive RM166,” he said when tabling the 2026 State Budget.

He also added that single individuals with income of RM2,500 and below will benefit from an increase of RM50, raising their assistance from RM250 to RM300.

“For each disbursement, recipients will receive RM100 each,” he added.

Earlier, Abang Johari said that this year, the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) initiative was successfully implemented, providing annual support of RM250 to RM800 to eligible Sarawakians, with a total allocation of RM557 million.

“It is an effort rooted in compassion and designed to uplift our people through targeted financial assistance.

“This initiative benefited over 1.03 million eligible Sarawakians,” he said.

He added that this is Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government in action — listening, responding, and delivering.

“We are not just managing budgets; we are improving lives.

“Let us continue to build a Sarawak where no one is left behind, and every citizen feels the care of a government that truly serves,” he added.
