KUCHING: The Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD Sarawak) has stepped up monitoring of several infrastructure projects statewide through its One Month Pledge initiative to improve delivery performance and reduce delays.
In a Facebook update today (Apr 27), the department said the latest signing session covered projects involving rural healthcare electrification, special education facilities, border security infrastructure, and staff housing.
Among the projects are the installation of a solar power system at Nanga Health Clinic in Chemanong, Kapit; the construction of an Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI) block at Sekolah Kebangsaan Asyakirin; and a TABIKA KEMAS kindergarten in Kampung Lubok Tuan, Medamit, Limbang.
Also included are replacement staff quarters for the Limbang Broadcasting Department and a proposed new land border security control post for the Sarawak Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) at STASS, Bau.
PWD Sarawak said it will closely monitor contractors’ commitments during the first month of implementation to ensure projects proceed according to schedule and avoid delays affecting delivery to communities.
The One Month Pledge initiative forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen project governance and improve implementation efficiency across Sarawak.
