KUCHING: The Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development is committed to provide comprehensive social services to target groups through the One-Stop Social Support Centre (PSSS).
Political secretary to the Minister, Mohammed Kamaluddin Mohd Effendie, said the services carried out by the National Welfare Foundation (YKN) benefit not only women but also children, families, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (OKU) in rural areas.

“The services offered include counseling, social service referrals, and additional support for vulnerable groups.
“Therefore, the PSSS is a proactive step by the ministry to ensure the social needs of each target group, especially in rural areas, are managed effectively and comprehensively,” he said.
He said this during the launch of the “Kamek Nengar, Kamek Nulong” PSSS Outreach Programme and the distribution of food baskets in conjunction with Christmas celebrations, representing Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, in Lundu yesterday (Dec 8).
He added that in line with the event, PSSS booths offering services were also introduced in Kampung Pueh, Sematan, and Kampung Tayu Iban, Lundu, to provide direct support to local communities.
“These services are vital as they function as specialised referral centres, ensuring that target groups have access to holistic social services.
“This initiative is part of the effort to answer Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s call for inclusive social services, as highlighted during the previous Kembara Kasih Programme,” he said.
Besides offering PSSS services, the programme also witnessed the delivery of food baskets to 528 recipients from eight villages around Lundu, including Kampung Rayu Iban, Kampung Pueh, and six other villages.
He also mentioned that the presence of PSSS in this programme reflects the ministry’s commitment to expanding access to social services for all communities, regardless of their location.
“We hope that PSSS will be a catalyst for the government’s efforts in supporting communities in need, especially in rural areas,” he added.
