KUCHING: The SUPP N13 Batu Kitang Mobile Service Programme 2026 has brought together the Arang Road community in an unprecedented display of collaborative service delivery.

The programme was officially launched yesterday morning (Jan 18) by Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, Batu Kitang assemblyman, bringing a comprehensive range of government services directly to residents at the Hare Krishna Multipurpose Hall, International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Kuching.

The programme represented a unique partnership between five organisations: SUPP N13 Batu Kitang, the constituency’s youth group under Alvin Chong, the N13 women’s group, the local Neighbourhood Watch Scheme (KRT), and ISKCON under the leadership of Reverend Prabhu Kripa.

“Five organisations coming together, contributing to the success of this event,” Lo noted, emphasising the strength of community cooperation.

The Batu Kitang assemblyman highlighted the practical value of the one-stop service concept.

“It’s not easy for everybody to go to different agencies since not everyone has the transport and time. However, it is made possible today for people to come here for the services,” he explained.

Residents had access to multiple government services, including welfare assistance by the Sarawak Department of Social Welfare (JKMS), health screening by the Ministry of Health (MOH), Sarawak Pay and Sarawak ID registration, education-related assistance by Yayasan Sarawak and Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, and tax-related facilities through (Padawan Municipal Council) MPP.

The Sunday timing proved particularly beneficial for working residents who typically cannot visit government offices during weekday hours.

Given the programme’s success, Lo announced plans for similar initiatives in the future.

“I would like to encourage our youth, our youth chairmen, to organise more of this very meaningful event,” he said, expressing confidence that community agencies would continue their support.

SUPP Youth leader Alvin Chong and his team were specifically commended for their efforts in organising the inaugural event, which sets a new benchmark for community service delivery in the N13 Batu Kitang constituency.

With participants continuing to arrive throughout the morning and complimentary meals provided, the mobile service programme demonstrated how strategic partnerships between government, youth organisations, and community groups can effectively bring essential services closer to the people who need them most.
