LIMBANG: Festive open house celebrations continue to play a vital role in strengthening unity and harmony among Limbang’s multi-ethnic communities.
Deputy Minister of Transport and Limbang Member of Parliament, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, said organising open house events is not merely about celebrating a festival, but also serves as an effective platform to foster closer ties and promote mutual respect and tolerance.
“This unity must continue to be maintained through cooperation, mutual respect and tolerance,” he said when met during his open house at Dewan Bunga Raya here on Saturday.
He added that the values of unity reflected during festive celebrations should be practised in daily life to ensure lasting harmony within society.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, who is also Bukit Kota assemblyman, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, advised the public to celebrate in moderation amid global economic uncertainties.
However, he noted that festive celebrations remain important in strengthening cooperation and solidarity among the people.
The open house event was held in a lively atmosphere, with the attendance of people from various ethnic groups, reflecting a strong spirit of unity and the continued relevance of the open house tradition as a platform for bringing communities together.
