KUCHING: The Malaysian Orang Ulu Golf Association (MOUGA) is set to tee off a packed 2025 calendar with a robust lineup of tournaments.
The association recently received an allocation of RM15,000 from Ba’kelalan assemblyman, Baru Bian, to support its planned activities.
The cheque was presented during a courtesy visit to Baru’s office by MOUGA’s committee, led by President Asan Odau, Secretary Mark Parag Langup, and other Kuching-based members.
Asan shared that several key events are planned for the year, including MOUGA’s signature tournament, the Malaysian Orang Ulu Golf Competition, which is expected to be held in Miri this September.
Other highlights include ballsweep events in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Miri in conjunction with the Gawai celebration.
He said this in a recent press statement following the courtesy visit to Baru.
During the visit, Baru also encouraged the association to participate in charity-driven golf events aimed at supporting underprivileged Orang Ulu and rural communities.
For the record, MOUGA boasts a membership of 155 registered golfers – a growing community united by passion for the sport and Orang Ulu camaraderie.
