KUCHING: Students of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with 6As results or higher are eligible to apply for the ‘P195 Bandar Kuching and P196 Stampin Service Centre SPM2023 Excellent Result Prize Programme’.
The programme, according to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, promises them cash incentives, with the criteria of only those who live and attended schools under Bandar Kuching and Stampin constituencies are eligible to apply.
“Students who obtained 6As will receive RM200, while 7As will receive RM300, 8As (RM500), 9As (RM600) and 10As and above will receive RM700,” he told a press conference on the announcement for the programme at the DAP Sarawak headquarters here, today.
In the meantime, George Lam who is the special assistant to Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii said that in order to apply for the programme, applicants should scan the QR code that appears on the poster and fill out the Google form.
“What we also need is the student’s identification card (IC), school leaving certificate, SPM 2023 transcript and bank statement to complete the application.
“Registration closes on June 5, so those interested. Details will be posted on Chong and Yii’s Facebook pages,” he said.
On another note, Chong said an education fair will take place on June 15 at Aeroville Mall from 1 pm to 5 pm, co-organised with the Malaysia Dynamic Community Association (MDCA).
“The fair includes 29 private higher learning institutions, some of which are educational consultancies.
“Students can visit the education fair, which we know and believe are good for those who are interested in furthering their studies, and there are many options available,” he said.
Several education institutions that will open their booths during the education fair are Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, Monash University, IMU University, University of Nottingham and other education institutions from Malaya.
