KUALA LUMPUR: Failure to settle outstanding summonses does not cause an individual to lose eligibility for the BUDI MADANI RON95 petrol subsidy (BUDI95), said Transport Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

He said outstanding summonses and BUDI95 subsidy eligibility are two separate mechanisms that operate independently, and there is no automatic direct link between them.

“Based on current policy, to apply for or continue receiving the BUDI95 petrol subsidy, applicants must meet the basic criteria: they must be Malaysian citizens verified via MyKad and must possess an active driving licence.

“An active driving licence refers to a licence that is still valid, or one that has expired for no more than three years,” he said in a statement.

In line with that, Loke advised the public to continue adhering to traffic laws for the safety of all road users.

Earlier, several portals reported claims that individuals who failed to settle their summonses would lose their eligibility for BUDI95 benefits. – BERNAMA
