KUCHING: Over 10,000 people attended the state-level MADANI Aidilfitri Celebration 2025 held at Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya, here today.

The event brought together people from all walks of life, including local community leaders and residents from the Kuching area.
Organised by the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry (PETRA) in collaboration with the Sarawak State Secretary’s Office (SUK) and the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) of the Prime Minister’s Office, the celebration was made even more festive with the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Sarawak’s three Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, along with federal and state ministers, assemblymen and other distinguished guests.

In a press release, PETRA said that the event, themed ‘Ihsan Menyentuh Jiwa, Toleransi Menyatu Negara’, aimed to highlight the values of compassion and tolerance as core foundations of unity in Malaysia’s diverse society, in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision.
Sarawak was the fifth destination for this nationwide MADANI Aidilfitri series, and its hosting symbolised the rich cultural diversity of Malaysia, and its role in strengthening harmony across different ethnic and religious communities.
Guests were treated to a variety of traditional Sarawak delicacies, while enjoying vibrant cultural and musical performances by local artists.
PETRA, as the lead ministry, hopes that the organisation of this event will serve as a platform to express the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI – to strengthen noble values such as compassion, tolerance and respect among the multiracial society, and to foster a spirit of unity that transcends differences in background and beliefs.
