KUCHING: Zhu Sze Temple at Tabuan Laru here is celebrating its deity’s birthday in conjunction with the temple’s 8th anniversary from 29 April to 1 May, 2017.
The drizzle on Saturday evening did not dampen the crowd enthusiasm to join in the celebration which started with a lion dance troupe paying its respect at the temple.
It was followed by the beating of the temple’s drum and ringing of a bell to mark the start of the celebration.
More than 150 devotees and visitors were present on the first night of the celebration last Saturday by performing their prayers and making offerings to the deity.
A Karaoke singing competition was also organised to entertain the visitors as part of the celebration.
Attractive prizes also await winners for the three-day celebration where the devotees are required to collect their lucky draw number after making their offering to the deity.
Members of the public are invited to join in the celebration and also to pray for peace, security, prosperity, family harmony and good health.
