KUCHING: More than 300 young bowlers from around 37 countries are set to battle it out in Kuching when the IBF World Youth Championships 2026 (IBFWYC26) rolls into Megalanes Sarawak from June 27 to July 7.
Organised by the Sarawak Amateur Tenpin Bowling Association (ABAS), the tournament will see rising talents from across the globe competing for top honours on the lanes.
Among the confirmed participants are bowling powerhouses such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Sweden and hosts Malaysia.
The championship will feature singles, doubles, team and mixed team events for both boys and girls, setting the stage for intense competition across categories.
With the last edition in Malaysia held in 2003, Kuching’s role as host marks a major moment for the sport in Sarawak.
The tournament also offers local youth bowlers a valuable chance to test themselves against world-class opposition on home ground.
Beyond competition, the event is expected to boost Sarawak’s standing as a venue for international tenpin bowling tournaments.
