KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Runati Samarahan Hero Run 2026 drew strong participation as over 600 fitness enthusiasts, families and community members gathered at Summer Mall on Sunday (Feb 1).

The run, flagged off by Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang, featured three categories: 10km and 5km competitive runs, as well as a 3km fun run.

The competitive categories offered total prizes worth RM10,000.

Despite rainy weather during the flag-off, participants showed high spirits and determination, proving that the downpour was no barrier to taking on the challenge.

In addition to the run, various health and fitness activities were held throughout the day.

A 90-minute fitness party energised the crowd mid-morning, while free health screenings were provided in collaboration with CARiNG Pharmacy.

The programme also included a charitable element, with the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society named as the beneficiary.

Participants received entitlement packages that included event T-shirts, bibs, medals and towels.

Families also took part in a colouring contest held in the afternoon for children aged four to 12, which featured three age categories and offered total prizes worth RM2,000.

Organisers said the initiative aimed to inspire the public to stay active and adopt healthier lifestyles while strengthening community bonds through sports.

Runati Malaysia, a wholesaler and distributor of Runati products, organised the run as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting wellness and community engagement.
