Miri: The Sarawak government via the Welfare Department, disbursed RM5,454,800 in financial assistance to 4,283 beneficiaries in Miri from January to March this year, aimed at providing crucial support to needy individuals.
“Of the recipients, 976 are those celebrating Raya in Miri division, while 278 are from Bekenu area, reflecting the diverse distribution of financial assistance within the areas,” said Deputy Minister for Women, Family, Community Well-being and Childhood Development Sarawak Datuk Rosey Yunus.
Rosey was speaking at the “Sejambak Kasih” programme held at Bekenu Multi-purpose Hall today.
In total, there were 496 beneficiaries in Bekenu who received financial assistance totaling RM628,950 since January this year, underscoring the significant support provided to individuals in the Bekenu area during this period.
Yesterday, one hundred beneficiaries were present to receive assistance worth RM100, during the Sejambak Kasih programme, in Bekenu, while the remaining 178 who could not attend will have their assistance credited into their bank accounts, ensuring all eligible recipients receive the aid efficiently and conveniently.
