SARAWAK has secured more than RM9.6 billion in federal funding under the Fourth and Fifth Rolling Plans (RP4 and RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) to accelerate development across the state.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced this during his ministerial winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.
Under RP4, which covered the year 2024, RM5.3 billion was allocated for the implementation of 1,128 projects.
As of December 2024, RM4.5 billion, representing 86 per cent of the approved allocation, had been spent.
For the RP5, a total of RM4.3 billion has been approved for 1,174 projects.
However, only RM1.2 billion, or 27 per cent, had been utilised as of April 2025.
“Out of the total number of projects under RP5, 206, equivalent to 18 per cent, have been completed.
“The rest are currently at various stages of implementation,” Uggah said.
