KUCHING: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be exchanged between Penjara Puncak Borneo, the Tun Jugah Foundation (Olah Idup) and Pink Jambu during the official visit of Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, to the JUMA’ANI Pavilion tomorrow (Dec. 8, Monday), held in conjunction with the pavilion’s third anniversary celebration.
Her Majesty is scheduled to arrive at 3:00 pm for the visit, which will include a tour of the JUMA’ANI Pavilion Production Centre, followed by a fashion showcase featuring the JUMA’ANI Collection by Pink Jambu.
The MoU aims to strengthen collaborative efforts in fashion innovation, heritage textile development, and community-based creative programmes, involving inmates, cultural institutions and local designers.
The ceremony will also feature a symbolic cake-cutting to mark the third anniversary of the JUMA’ANI Pavilion.
The visit highlights the achievements of JUMA’ANI Pavilion as an emerging hub for Sarawak fashion and textile heritage while reinforcing collaborations across the public sector, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and local creative entrepreneurs.
The presence of the Tengku Ampuan Pahang is expected to inspire more young entrepreneurs and artisans to preserve, innovate and elevate Sarawak’s cultural heritage to the global stage.
The two-day engagement also highlights CENTEXS Commercial’s aspirations, which continue to position it as a key platform championing Sarawak’s creative products and artisan communities, aligning with the state’s broader mission to cultivate innovation, creativity and heritage conservation through strong partnerships with government agencies, entrepreneurs and local communities.
