KUCHING: The Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah extended their heartfelt congratulations to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on being conferred The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
In a post on Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, they expressed great pride and joy over the prestigious recognition, describing it as a testament to the Premier’s exemplary leadership and his significant contributions in strengthening Malaysia-Japan relations.
They noted that the award underscores Japan’s appreciation of the Premier’s efforts in fostering cooperation in key sectors such as the economy, investment, green energy, and sustainable development.
The investiture ceremony, held in Tokyo, was also seen as an international acknowledgment of Sarawak’s steady progress under Abang Johari’s visionary leadership — particularly in advancing the people’s welfare, driving socio-economic development, and promoting environmental sustainability.
The royal couple conveyed their prayers and well wishes for the Premier’s continued strength, health, and wisdom to lead Sarawak towards even greater achievements and prosperity.
