SIBU: The Pusat Aktiviti Kanak-Kanak (PAKK) Sibu Jaya inaugurated its Psychological Care Centre (PCC) yesterday (Nov 17)
PAKK chairperson Lolita Jimmy the newly introduced centre will bolster crisis intervention services for the community
“The main purpose of the introduction of the PCC is to further expand counselling and psychology services to the local community in order to create a healthy society from a psychological perspective,” she said when met by reporters at the launching ceremony here yesterday (Nov 17).
The PCC Launching ceremony was officiated by the political secretary to the Premier, William Anut.
Lolita stressed PAKK’s pivotal role in supporting child protection services, especially within Sibu Jaya, addressing cases of child abuse, neglect, and preventing social issues among children.
“Along with the rapid development of the population in Sibu Jaya, we cannot deny the social problems among children.
“Therefore, PAKK was established to curb and protect the rights of children, especially in Sibu Jaya. PAKK also plays an important role to help children who are neglected and have social problems,” she said.

Highlighting the diverse range of activities, including counselling sessions, computer and tuition classes, and parenting courses, Lolita urged children and teenagers in Sibu Jaya to participate actively.
