BINTULU: A collision between a truck and a car occurred near Sebubu Plantation along Jalan Bintulu-Samalaju, resulting in the overturned turtle and the driver sustaining injuries.
The accident, which took place 24 kilometres from the Kidurong Fire Station in Bintulu, involved a palm oil tanker truck and a Proton Iriz car.
The Bintulu Fire Department received an emergency call about the incident at 3.10 pm and ruched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firemen found both victims were already on the shoulder of the road, whereby the injured car driver has been assisted out of his overturned car by the tanker driver.
The injured driver of the Proton Iriz, a 36-year-old man, was rushed to Bintulu Hospital via ambulance. Meanwhile, the tanker driver, a 49-year-old man was unharmed.
Fire department official informed that the tanker was owned by Harvest Transport Company.
Firemen performed cleanup operation which concluded by 3:50 pm.
