KUCHING: Ta Ann Holdings Bhd recorded strong quarter-on-quarter growth across its oil palm and timber operations in the July–September 2025 period (3Q2025), with fresh fruit bunch (FFB), crude palm oil (CPO), and log production volumes all showing double-digit increases.
According to the group’s quarterly production data filed with Bursa Malaysia, FFB output jumped 24 per cent to 182,176 tonnes from 147,362 tonnes in 2Q2025, while CPO production climbed 12 per cent to 79,368 tonnes from 70,924 tonnes.
Palm kernel (PK) production rose by 9 per cent to 17,055 tonnes.
Year-on-year, however, production was weaker, with FFB output down 16 per cent from 216,492 tonnes in 3Q2024, CPO volume down 4 per cent, and PK output lower by 7 per cent.
For the nine-month period of 2025, Ta Ann’s FFB production eased 5 per cent to 466,339 tonnes, while CPO rose 5 per cent to 211,342 tonnes and PK grew 3 per cent to 46,386 tonnes.
As at Dec 31, 2024, the group managed 13 oil palm estates spanning 72,499 hectares, with 38,864 hectares in prime mature age (8–20 years), 4,920 hectares in young mature (4–7 years), and 4,804 hectares still immature.
Ta Ann operates three palm oil mills.
In timber operations, log output increased 12 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 57,806 cubic metres (cu m), and 24 per cent year-on-year. Cumulatively, 9M2025 log production edged up 2 per cent to 139,878 cu m.
The group manages three Forest Management Units (FMUs) in the Rajang region covering 346,021 hectares and has 31,484 hectares of planted forests, some now into second-rotation harvest.
Meanwhile, Rimbunan Sarawak Bhd (RSB) posted mixed results. Its FFB output surged 18.5 per cent to 84,224 tonnes quarter-on-quarter, but CPO and PK volumes slipped 5.1 per cent each to 28,831 tonnes and 6,335 tonnes, respectively.
Year-on-year, the changes were marginal, with FFB down 1 per cent, CPO up 1.7 per cent, and PK up 1.6 per cent. On a nine-month basis, CPO production rose a robust 22.5 per cent to 84,585 tonnes, while PK jumped 20.6 per cent to 18,464 tonnes.
As at end-2025, RSB operated 14 oil palm estates across Kuching, Sibu, and Miri, with 35,389 hectares planted — 60 per cent of its total landbank. Of this, 16,945 hectares comprised prime mature palms and 13,102 hectares old mature (over 20 years).
BLD Plantation Bhd also reported stronger sequential output, with CPO up 10.3 per cent to 33,175 tonnes and PK up 7.8 per cent to 6,829 tonnes in 3Q2025.
Year-on-year, both were lower — CPO down 4.2 per cent and PK down 5.4 per cent — but nine-month figures showed slight improvement: CPO up 1.1 per cent to 90,088 tonnes and PK up 3 per cent to 18,967 tonnes.
The group owns about 39,600 hectares of oil palm plantations, almost all of which are mature.
Subur Tiasa Holdings Bhd, meanwhile, saw its FFB production rise 18.1 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 82,970 tonnes but fall 11.8 per cent year-on-year. For 9M2025, FFB output slipped 8.8 per cent to 220,120 tonnes.
The group, which does not operate its own mill, also reported a steep drop in log production — none in 3Q2025 compared to 8,195 cu m a year earlier — bringing its 9M2025 total down 88.5 per cent to 3,786 cu m from 32,962 cu m.
