KUCHING: The Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia Sarawak Chapter (PAMSC) is once again hosting another instalment of their Public Design Lecture Series tomorrow at the auditorium of the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS), Jalan Canna here from 8.30am to 12pm.

One of the speakers will be local architect Wong Jeh Tat; formerly from Sibu, he graduated from USM and has worked in KL all this time. He will talk about his decade-long involvement with SEKSAN DESIGN; a renowned landscape and design company.

In addition to that, Howie Lam who is an alumni of Nippon Paint’s Asian Young Designers’ Award (AYDA), will be speaking on his work and how winning the award has guided him in his young career.

The keynote speaker for this event is a couple; Tim Bradley from England and Kasia Boguslawska-Bradley from Poland. They have worked with a diverse array of companies and on projects from Europe to Africa; from the Middle East to China.

In recent years, they have both been working with Kerry Hill Architects in Singapore. They will talk about how their study and practice of Architecture has enabled them to pursue their two passions in life – design and adventure. They will illustrate this with an overview of their architectural journey and some formative on what it means to be an architect in a foreign land.

PAMSC also made it clear that these lectures are not just for professionals and architects only – that it is important for everyone to see the benefit of good design in their daily lives, especially school students who are interested in pursuing a career in architecture and design. The lecture will end with a Q&A session when the speakers will answer questions about their presentations.
