BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming has agreed to accept the appointment as president of the Bintulu Scout Council following a courtesy visit by the newly formed council at his office on Friday.
The Bintulu Scout Council, which was established in December last year, paid the visit to formally present a letter of invitation to Pang.
The delegation was led by its chairman Samri Suhaili, along with other council members.
Sarawak Scout Council vice-president Jumaat Ibrahim said the appointment is aimed at strengthening leadership and further advancing the scouting movement in the Bintulu district.
He said Pang had expressed his willingness to take on the role upon receiving the invitation letter.
The appointment is expected to reinforce the role of the Bintulu Scout Council in planning and implementing programmes that contribute positively to youth development and community engagement.
