KUCHING: The Pantai Damai Education Bureau and the Pantai Damai Education Council remain committed to ensuring that the academic performance of school students continues to improve, says Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
The Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) said both the bureau and the council consistently seek initiatives to help students achieve their academic aspirations.
“It is every student’s dream to succeed in education. Therefore, through our service centre, the education bureau continuously collaborates with the council, which comprises school principals and headmasters,” he said.
“Both parties work hand in hand to plan programmes, activities and forward strategies to enhance school performance.”
Dr Abdul Rahman said this when speaking at the Higher Learning Institution (IPT) Student Incentive Presentation Ceremony for the N.4 Pantai Damai constituency held at the Pantai Damai Service Centre today.
Among the initiatives organised throughout the year were seminars, motivational camps and other programmes ahead of the examination season.
“These efforts are aimed at ensuring students are fully prepared so they can achieve success when sitting for their examinations,” Dr Abdul Rahman reiterated.
In relation to that, he said parents must play an important role by encouraging their children to further their studies to higher levels.
“The duty of parents is to ensure their children are in the best environment to study without distractions that could affect their focus,” he added.
“We want them to return home with a degree once they complete their studies. This is for their future.”
Dr Abdul Rahman also urged students to take advantage of available opportunities to pursue higher-level studies.
“Some may say it is costly. However, we must understand that everything we do comes with its own challenges.
“We must face those challenges, continue working hard, and keep praying. Education is vital because it is a guarantee for our children’s future,” he said.
“At the same time, their success will serve as an example and inspiration for their younger siblings.”
