KUCHING: Jalan Tun Jugah, near the Premier 101 Food Centre here, will experience a partial road closure starting today (Jan 3) to facilitate construction works for the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Phase 1.
The closure, expected to last until December 31, 2025, is necessary for temporary road marking works and the construction of the Automated Rapid Transit (ART) Station (SR 08).
Sarawak Metro, in a statement posted on Facebook, confirmed that the construction would involve 24-hour daily operations over a period of 363 days.
Road users are advised to adhere to all traffic management measures, including road warning signs and speed limits, to ensure the safety of both road users and construction workers.
The ART Station (SR 08) is part of the Red Line, which stretches from Kuching Sentral to Pending.
Road users are also encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes to minimise delays during this period.
