KUCHING: A section of Jalan Wan Alwi here, from Kampung Kastam Tabuan Jaya to Vivacity Megamall, will be partially diverted for six months to facilitate drainage and road widening works under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project.
Sarawak Metro, in a statement, said the temporary diversion will begin today (April 19) and continue until October 18, 2025.
The works will be carried out daily from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, and again from 9.00 pm to 4.00 am.
“This is part of the development of the Blue Line under the KUTS project,” the statement read.
Road users are advised to use alternative routes to ease traffic flow and help ensure smooth travel to their destinations.
“Please follow all traffic management measures, road warning signs and speed limit, for the safety of road users and construction workers,” Sarawak Metro reminded.
The agency also thanked the public for their patience and cooperation throughout the duration of the project.
