SIBU: Participation is more important in any programme, as everyone is a winner simply by taking part, said Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh.

The Bawang Assan assemblyman emphasised that winning or losing in any competition is secondary.

“Competitions are organised to foster a spirit of challenge, and to spark creativity and imagination among the participants.

“Therefore, I hope that by joining this competition, we can cultivate a sense of family and strengthen social connectivity among all of us,” he said.

He was speaking at a colouring contest organised by Community MADANI Norkiah and KRT Sungai Empawah here today.

He also extended his gratitude to all participants, including their teachers and parents, who continuously support the development of children, not only in education, but also in the arts and in pursuing their own aspirations.

Regarding the programme itself, he highlighted the importance of environmental awareness, conservation and protection.

“I hope that through this competition, greater awareness can be instilled in all participants, so that we may better care for our environment – our shared family environment,” he added.
