MUKAH: A local man was killed while two others suffered minor injuries after their car crashed along Jalan Kampung Bedengan early this morning.
The 4.45 am accident involved a Proton Saga carrying three male occupants.
Two of the victims managed to get out with the help of the public, while another was pinned in the rear passenger seat.
Firefighters from Mukah station were promptly dispatched to the scene, about 35km away, following a distress call.
They extricated the trapped victim from the wreckage using rescue tools.
The victim, whose identity was not known, was pronounced dead by paramedics and his body was handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The Bomba team ended the operation at 6.54 am.
