SELANGAU: A Perodua Axia collided with a stationary trailer at Mile 42, Jalan Sibu-Selangau, last night (March 31), leaving the driver uninjured while the passenger sustained injuries.

Sibu Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Andy Alie said firefighters from the Selangau fire station rushed to the scene, which was 14 kilometers away, and arrived at 7.51 pm.

Upon arrival, Andy stated that firefighters found the 30-year-old driver unharmed, while the 33-year-old passenger had sustained injuries to his left leg.

“The vehicle crashed into the back of a trailer parked on the road shoulder in front of the Mile 42 bus stop, Jalan Sibu-Selangau,” he said.

Firefighters extricated the injured passenger before handing him over to a Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance.

He was then transported to the Selangau Health Clinic for further medical treatment.

The operation concluded at approximately 8.29 pm.
