SERIAN: A female passenger died on the spot while her driver was injured when their car skidded and crashed along Jalan Telagus here yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Serian station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call at 3:20 pm.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that a saloon car had overturned by the roadside. The driver had already been pulled out by members of the public, while the female passenger remained unconscious and pinned to her seat.
The victim was extricated using rescue tools, and paramedics later confirmed that Nurfariedatul Syahida Hamri, 32, had died at the scene.
Her body was handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, the driver, a 30-year-old man, sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
The rescue operation concluded at 5:57 pm.
