SIBU: Immediate past district governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew of Lions Clubs International (LCI) District 308-A2 hosted the 2023-2024 LCI Awards and District 308-A2 Governor’s Awards ceremony at a restaurant here recently.
The prestigious honours were presented to Lions Clubs from Regions 2 and 3, recognising their outstanding service and contributions.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the Lions members from Regions 2 and 3 came together to celebrate Christmas, further enhancing the evening’s festive atmosphere.
To add significance to the occasion, the current district governor Annie Ho Chui Leng was invited as the guest of honour and served as a witness to the awards presentation.
The awards winners for the LCI Excellence Lions Clubs (2023-2024) were Lions Club of Kapit president Kapitan Yap Hui Lee, Lions Club of Sarikei president Ling Leh King, Lions Club of Sibu Bawang Assan president Jeremy Sim, Lions Club of Sibu Berjaya president Jenny Yong and Lions Club of Sibu Jaya president Roseline Yii,
Others were Lions Club of Sibu Loving Care president Goh Ee Leng, Lions Club of Sibu Mandarin president Robert Wong, Lions Club of Sibu Nangka president Kan Wen Chess, Lions Club of Sibu Queensway president Cr Chou Kok Jin and Lions Club of Sibu Rejang president Stella Yii.
Five recipients for The District Governor “Diamond Lions Club” Awards were Lions Club of Sarikei president Ling Leh King, Lions Club of Sibu Rejang president Stella Yii, Lions Club of Sibu Berjaya president Jenny Yong, Lions Club of Sibu Jaya president Roseline Yii and Lions Club of Sibu Bawang Assan president Jeremy Sim.
Two recipients of the LCI Outstanding Lion’s Medal were Past Region 2 chairperson Dixon Chiu and Past Region 3 chairperson Vincent Lau.
For the Outstanding Region and Zone Chairpersons Awards, the awardees included Past Region 3 chairperson Vincent Lau, Zone 4 chairperson Godfrey Ting, Zone 5 chairperson Daniel Iing Shii Ngie, Zone 6 chairperson Ting King Yiing and Zone 7 chairperson Stanley Kung.
