KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) Samariang branch Wanita members hosted a Santunan Kasih Seindah Syawal programme at the Samariang Service Centre on Saturday (March 14).
PBB Deputy Wanita Chief, Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed said the annual programme aims to help local residents reduce the burden of Syawal preparation expenses.
“We will be giving out pocket money, savoury porridge, baskets of traditional kuih and a lot more to 150 selected recipients here,” she added.
The initiative is also for us to strengthen our bonds in the month of Ramadan,” she said.
She added that the programme is also a collaborative effort with the National Anti-Drug Agency (PEMADAM).
Also present was PBB Senior Vice President, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof who said the programme is to instill a caring culture in the community.
“Our faith is not perfect unless we care for each other, regardless of religion because we are only human beings created by God.
“The basis of care is remembering that when we are financially capable, we should help others who are in need, which aligns with our theme, Kasih Santun,” he said.
