KUCHING: The Women’s Wing of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PWPBB) urges all 82 branches and sub-branches to strengthen grassroots work and unity to secure a decisive Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) victory in the upcoming Sarawak state election.
Its Women chief, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the movement remains fully behind the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in defending the state’s rights and driving Sarawak towards achieving its long-term development agenda, particularly in areas such as the digital economy, green technology, sustainable development and the pursuit of high-income state status.
“PWPBB also extends its highest congratulations to the Sarawak Government on the successful takeover and return of Bintulu Port to Sarawak.
“This achievement is a significant and historic milestone in the ongoing efforts and firm stance of the GPS government to claim and defend Sarawak’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“We are confident that Bintulu Port will continue to play an important role and contribute significantly to Sarawak’s economic development,” she said.
She said this during a press conference after chairing PWPBB Supreme Council meeting at PBB headquarters here today.
Fatimah also said that PWPBB expressed full support for PBB Secretary-General Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, endorsing his emphasis on the importance of unity, harmony and continuous focus on the wellbeing of the people.
“Therefore, in line with the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) term ending in February 2027, PWPBB calls on all 82 branches and sub-branches to be prepared to strengthen grassroots work, continue fostering unity, remain committed and disciplined in carrying out the entrusted duties and responsibilities and ensure a strong and convincing victory for all GPS candidates in the upcoming state election,” she said.
Earlier, Fatimah said as of February 5, 2026, PBB’s women membership had reached 181,850, a significant portion of the party’s total 379,833 members as of November 21, 2025, reflecting a steady increase from last year.
