SEBAUH: Members of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) have been urged to remain united and uphold honesty and sincerity in their roles to ensure the party continues to grow stronger and earn the respect of other political parties.

Its President, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing stressed that party members must serve with genuine commitment and should not view party membership as a platform for personal gain.

“We as members of this party must be honest and carry out our duties sincerely to fellow party members and also to the public. We should not join the party for personal gain,” he said.

Tiong, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said this when officiating the Triennial General Meeting (TGM) of the PDP N.69 Kemena Division held at Rh Agnes Mampak in Sebauh on Saturday.

He emphasised that honesty and close cooperation among members are key foundations for ensuring the party continues to grow and maintain its standing among other political parties.

Tiong also encouraged members to actively promote PDP membership so the party can continue expanding and remain relevant in the future.

During the meeting, a new committee for the PDP N.69 Kemena Division was elected for the new term.

In the election, Ukar Kelayang was re-elected as chairman of the division. Meanwhile, Empaling Tuan was elected deputy chairman, Mampak Mandaw as women’s chief, and David Bedali as youth chief.
