KUCHING: Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah land a slot in the Malaysia Masters semis after brandishing over Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma-Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi with straight set wins at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, today.
The World No. 3 women’s doubles pair spared no mercy against the Indonesians, as they hunger to fully capitalise on their momentum from their recent win at the 2025 Thailand Open.
Although Febriana-Amalia presented several key challenging moments in the quarter-final bout, the Malaysians were not fazed by their attacks and maintained an eagle-eye focus throughout the match.
Earlier in the men’s doubles draw, Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee bested World No. 2 pair, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsaini with a 21-7, 21-16 set win.
Following suit were Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, as they tore down Rasmus Kjaer and Frederik Søgaard’s defences with a spectacular 21-10, 21-19 set win.
In the event that both the national shuttlers’ win their respective matches, the men’s doubles finals will see the likes of Wei Chong-Kai Wun battling with Aaron-Wooi Yik, World No. 3 pair, for the champions’ title on Sunday.
