KUCHING: Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah has once again made the nation proud after bagging the 2025 Kumamoto Masters title, their third championship win of the season.

The world No. 2 duo sealed the Super 500 crown with a steely 22-20, 22-19 win over Japan’s Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi in a 54-minute battle at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium on Saturday.

It is also Malaysia’s first-ever triumph at the prestigious Super 500 meet, adding another milestone to their already standout year.

Pearly-Thinaah kicked off their season with victory at the Thailand Open in May before clinching the Arctic Open in Vantaa, Finland, last month.

Their latest win cements their position at the top of the World Tour Finals (WTF) qualifiers list.

The pair pocketed USD37,525 (RM155,190) for their effort, while the Japanese finalists earned USD18,050 (RM76,648).

With this victory, the Malaysians have now beaten the Japanese pair seven times in nine meetings, underscoring their dominance over the home favourites.
