KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) pedestrian bridge along Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg will be demolished this week as part of the Proposed Reconstruction of the SGH Pedestrian Bridge (Package 1: Demolition Works) project.

According to a statement from Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), the demolition works took effect yesterday and today (4 and 5 Nov) between 10.00 pm until 5.00 am.

“During the demolition period, road users are advised to exercise caution when passing through the affected area and to follow all safety signages placed along the route,” it said.

The affected stretch is along Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, with Jalan Crookshank and Jalan Hospital (Access Road) identified as alternative routes.

DBKU also expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation and understanding during the temporary inconvenience caused by the works.
