KUCHING: A foreign woman sustained minor injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the road in front of the Podium along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi here Thursday night (May 1).

Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident occurred at around 8.40pm and involved a Perodua Kelisa driven by a local man in his 30s.

“The vehicle was heading from Batu 3 roundabout towards Jalan Satok when it came into contact with the woman, believed to be in her 40s,” he said in a statement today (May 2).

She suffered injuries to her face, left arm and leg, and was taken to Sarawak General Hospital.

“She was discharged around 8 am today and is now receiving follow-up treatment at KPJ Kuching Hospital,” he added.

Alexson urged witnesses to contact Traffic Investigation Officer Insp Charlie Aloysius at 014-8682068 / 082-259900 or report to the nearest police station.

He also reminded motorists to drive responsibly and observe traffic rules for everyone’s safety.
