KUCHING: Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, has emphasised the vital role of pensioners as sources of inspiration and advisors to the younger generation.
He said this when officiating at the Sarawak Government Pensioners Association’s Hari Raya Dinner 2025 at Hotel Dormani here on Saturday night.
It brought together retired civil servants and esteemed guests from across the state.
“This association serves as an important platform not only for safeguarding the welfare of its members, but also for making full use of the skills and experience that each pensioner possesses,” he said.
Len took the opportunity to encourage their continued involvement in various community activities.
He also extended his congratulations to Datuk Mohamed Sepuan Anu, who was elected as the new president, along with the rest of the committee members entrusted with leading the organisation forward.
“May the legacy of previous leaderships be upheld, while introducing meaningful and inclusive reforms,” he added.
On a related note, Len also highlighted the state government’s dedication to empowering senior citizens, reaffirming the Sarawak government’s commitment to initiatives such as the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), which offers discounts and financial exemptions for a variety of goods and services across public and private sectors, as well as from strategic partners.
