KUCHING: The President of the Chinese Muslim Welfare As soc i at ion Sa rawa k , Haj i Mortadha Lau Abdullah, together with his Central Committee members paid a courtesy call to Sarawak’s Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office and officially handed over the letter of appointment to Chief Minister as a Patron to the above association.
In a society comprising a variety of ethnicities, religions and cultures, the Chief Minister encouraged the association to work closely with Islamic non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and non-Islamic NGOs to continue promoting peace and harmony in Sarawak.

Prior to the date of this courtesy call, the association had also visited Minister of Welfare, Women and Community, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah at her office and at the same time also handed over the letter of appointment to her as an Advisor to the said association.
The Chinese Muslim Welfare Association Sarawak (PERKTHIS) is a Sarawak local-based Chinese Muslim Association, officially approved by ROS on June 13, 2017. Central committee members comprise of President, Haji Mortadha Lau Abdullah, Deputy President, Jamaludin James Hiew Tze Chang, Vice President, Abdul Hamid Ling, Honorary Secretary, Nur Aisyah Chan, Assistant Honorary Secretary, Mohd Imran Lai , Honorary Treasurer, Mohd Wong Kee Kiong, Assistant Honorary Treasurer, Nur Hisyamuddin Ngu and Committee Members, Mohd Firdaus Law, Mohd Shafiee Wong, Mohd Ashraf Daniel Chen and Hussin Chin How.
PERKTHIS aims to look after the well-being of Chinese Muslims, as well as promote close rapport and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims.
